Aunt Joyce What can be said about Stevie Nicks. That she is a gift from GOD, who writes and sings and performs, from her soul. Seeing her for the fourth time, was such a joy. She just touches me, with her obvious love for her fans. The band was great, and the drum solo, just amazing. The costume changes, typical Stevie. She danced, and twirled to screams and whistles, from us. Ever pleasing, she rocked on.......Fall From Grace, was the song I was anxious to sing, with her. After the Trouble in Shangri-La concert, I learned the song better. The videos were great, especially the baby pictures.
My brother drove me, to the concert, and watched the show, not being a fan, but because I am. We were lucky, to sit by fans, from the quad cities, who shared Stevie stories. Seems talking to fellow fans, before the concert, always happens, and is so great. Her fans love her, she loves us.
Rock on GOLD DUST WOMAN. Thanks for writing something, for us. PEACE
Jeremy So I got to see Stevie again on July 4th...time time in Milwaukee. My
5th time seeing her was just as intense as the first time. From the
moment she hit the stage with "Enchanted" up until the final chords of
"Beauty And The Beast" I was in a trance. I was looking most forward
to seeing her perform "Fall From Grace" which I think is probably one
of her best live songs. Her encore cover of Led Zeppelin's "Rock And
Roll" was also something I was really curious to see...as I did. She
totally rocked that out...and while wearing pants, of all things.
The most heartfelt moment came during "Landslide"...as the giant
screen behind her showed photos and video clips throughout her life
(and who didn't laugh their ass off when she fell doing ballet in that
one video clip?). Her speech about the ONE Campaign was very
touching...as was "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You"...which I
wasn't expecting her to sing since I hadn't seen it in the previous
set lists. It was a beautiful moment regardless.
Now the show stopper..."Stand Back." The moment she started until the
moment she finished, the crowd danced and danced...and I, too, danced
myself to death. As we have come to expect from the past few tours,
she did her trademark spinning during the instrumental break, to which
the crowd nearly went nuts.
I was very happy to see her do "Outside The Rain" again since this is
my favorite solo song she has ever done. And the energy during "Edge
of Seventeen" was incredible. Considering how far into the set it was,
her voice sounded just as strong as it did during her opening song.
And who didn't love "Rhiannon"...one of the songs ("Dreams" is
another) that the crowd knows EVERY word to and sings EVERY word along
with Stevie. That's one of the things that makes every one of us feel
so enchanted by seeing Stevie...the fact that none of us know the
people sitting around us but we can always bond with them as if we've
known them for years. The two girls sitting behind me (one from nearby
Chicago, and her friend came all the way from D.C.) made the concert
even better for me and my friend. Whenever I go to see Stevie (or even
Fleetwood Mac), I always want to stand for the entire show because I
have so much energy...but there are always people around me (usually
behind me) who complain and want me to sit so they can sit and watch
the show. But the girls behind me were so cool about my standing
throughout the show...since they stood too. So thank you girls for
making the concert even MORE enjoyable for me. And thank you, Stevie,
for helping me to find the smile I thought I had lost...I will always
remember...you.
Michelle M. Rick WOW!!! What an experience we had at the July 4, 2005, show in Milwaukee. Stevie completely blew me away. She was truly at her BEST. She radiated with more beauty, elegance and class than ANY of her past shows that I have seen. The highlight of the show for me was when she shook the hands of as many of us as she could, one them being my 12 year old daughter Rhiannon. I consider that one moment of my most cherished moments in my life. THANK YOU STEVIE!!!! You are truly INCREDIBLE!!!
Christopher Henry From my earliest memories I can remember hearing Fleetwood Mac on the radio; Dreams, Rhiannon, Say You Love Me, Don’t Stop & Go Your Own Way have been engrained in my soul ever since. From that time I’ve always enjoyed Fleetwood Mac, but it wasn’t until the release of their 1997 reunion album “The Dance” that I became a true, as I call it, “Fleetwood Freak”. As time went on I discovered the solo work of Stevie, Christine & Lindsey and became a fan of each. For one reason or another I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing FM or Stevie in concert. I must say what I experienced Monday night was well worth the wait! My friend who I went to the concert with has seen both Stevie and FM in concert many times; he commented that “this was by far the best performance he’s seen”. Stevie’s performance really was indescribable. She is an ageless beauty queen who absolutely glowed through the entire concert. Not once did I feel that Stevie wasn’t 100% into her performance; her energy and enthusiasm was unbelievable. It was refreshing to see how much Stevie appreciates her fans. You knew she was there for us because she took almost 10 minutes to shake hands with and greet as many fans as possible. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the best) I give Stevie’s performance a 20! Stevie, YOU ROCK & thank you for an unforgettable evening!
Donna Wow what a show and I say this from my view from the front row!Having gone to see Stevie several times in my 30 years of being a fan of hers she is spectacular!
The work that was done on the big screen was amazing really brought back memories of her career that is still going oh so strong!
Stevie ,what can I say, your set list was perfect loved the additions of circle dance and rock&roll. This being the first time ever front row center I had a chance to shake your hand and say hi.You made this the best concert I have ever seen it would be next to impossible to top.If you have not seen The Gold Dust Tour go you will love it.
Thank~You see you next time!
Liz Attending Stevie's concert was once again a breathtaking experience. She never lets me down. I have been a loyal fan since 1975 and will always think of her with the utmost respect. Those who have read some of the reviews are aware of the set list, so I need not dwell on that, all songs were sung with the same passion and grace she has blessed us with throughout the years.
One thing did happen that I never in my wildest dreams thought could happen for me. I was able to hold her hand and thank her. At the end of the show while she was going around shaking hands, I got the courage to go up to the stage and try my luck at getting her attention. She came on down the line towards me, looked directly at me, and took my outstretched hand. I held it for a moment, shook it and told her "Thank you Stevie."
Such a wonderfully gracious thing for her to do at a concert, it touched my heart. I stood there in disbelief for several moments and looked around again. A woman in front of me also was able to shake her hand and the look on her face said it all. She looked at me, saw the recognition in my face as to what had just happened and we gave each other a double high five!
An excellent concert that once again leaves me feeling a bit depressed, only because it is over and I don't know when I will see her again. I do know that I will never forget the feeling of actually holding her hand. I could die now and be happy.
Once again, "Thank you Stevie".
Ken Menominee The entire show was magical for my niece, nephew, and
I. I've seen Stevie MANY, MANY times through the years
and I've NEVER seen her SO happy and full of energy!
Her voice has never sounded better! We were in the
second row and during the "Edge of Seventeen" walk I
made my way to the stage. I gave her a bracelet from
my grandmother(it's pretty old) and she shook my hand
and thanked me....a few times!!! Thank God for Stevie
Nicks! and an evening my family and I won't ever
forget!!!!
Nicholas I saw Fleetwood Mac just over a year ago in Madison. When I heard that Stevie was coming to Milwaukee's Summerfest with Don Henley, I was sure I had to go. I was nervous when they cancelled the show but really happy when they re-announced that Stevie was coming (on her own). I have respected and really enjoyed Stevie's music for years but never saw her in concert before Fleetwood Mac. I was anticipating a good concert but didn't think it would compare to Fleetwood Mac.
Minutes before the show, the anticipation was killing me. I was in awe from the first note of the concert. Stevie's voice, energy and soul was absolutely amazing. The subtle changes in the songs she does with Fleetwood Mac were done elegantly and while they really are Stevie's songs, the band did an excellent job to respect the way that Lindsey, Mick and John plays them. Taiku is awesome to watch. I enjoyed his work with Fleetwood Mac and really this time with Stevie. I would certainly buy any album and see any show he is a part of.
Many people in my section of the audience were sitting for the majority of the show, but when she sang Rhiannon, Gold Dust Woman, Stand Back, Edge of Seventeen and Rock and Roll, I had no choice but to stand and rock along with her.
I have several concerts under my belt (mostly classic rock) and this concert shot way to the top of my favorites list. I know that there will be absolutely no way I will ever miss Stevie in concert again.
Thank you, Waddy, Carlos, Taku, Jana, Sharon, Brett, awesome piano player, excellent drummer and especially Stevie for putting on a show I will NEVER forget. I hope to see you again soon!
Russell Buchholz Stevie swept into the Marcus Amphitheatre on the Fourth of July, and left many Happy Concertgoers in her wake. I have been a Stevie Fan for 25 years, and have seen her in concert numerous times. I can honestly say this was the absolute best I have ever heard her sound. She never missed a beat, and hit every high note. Personal favorites were Stand Back and Gold Dust Woman, as her band added a edgier rock sound to both tunes. Also seeing Stevie tear up Led Zeppelins "Rock and Roll" was worth the price of admission alone. I urge everyone to go see this show, Stevie is in Wonderful Spirits and you can tell she is having the time of her life. The only complaint I have is with all the people who kept getting up to go buy Beer. I was in the 12th row, and one woman got up 8 times during a two hour show. If you are going to pay 60.00 for a ticket and then never be in your seat, use the 60.00 to buy beer and STAY HOME!!!! I have nothing against people having a good time, but constantly getting up and making people move so you can get out is extremely rude and prevents those of us there to see the show from having a good time. Stevie Rocks!!!!! We love you!!!!
Geetha Again, another amazing performance from the Queen Bee herself! I saw Stevie in Chicago a few weeks ago with Don Henley. The only disappointment in this solo show was that she didn't do more songs from TISL. But her cover of Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" was amazing, her percussion team ROCKED and closing with "Beauty and the Beast" was the perfect ending. She looked so beautiful and with the classic French film playing in the background, we were all mesmerized. My husband is a Stevie/FM fan but not the worshipping fanatic that I am. This was his first time seeing Stevie and he was totally impressed. There is no one like Miss Stevie! I didn't make it to the stage to shake her hand like I did at the Chicago show but it was actually great to watch the screen and see it from a different perspective. She had the biggest smile on her face as she walked down the stage for 10 minutes greeting her fans - you can tell that she loves us all as much as we love her! You're the real deal Stevie! God bless you and keep rockin' it sister!
Trish This is the reason that Stevie Nicks is called the "Queen of Rock and Roll." I have been to numerous Fleetwood Mac concerts (1st one-Tango in the Night. I was 6--my dad had me on his shoulders the whole show so I could see the "Stevie spin") and a few of Stevie's solo concerts, this was hands-down the best concert I have ever seen. I am still in awe of how strong Stevie's voice is. From "Enchanted" to "Sorcerer" to "Rock and Roll" (awesome song with a great hat), her voice, if anything got stronger. I was thrilled to hear "Sorcerer" and "Beauty and the Beast" for the first time in concert. My friend that I went to the concert with is still making fun of me because I had tears rolling down my face during "Landslide" and "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You". I couldn't help it, those songs just make me cry. The piano introduction to "Rhiannon" was breath-taking. I do not know the gentleman's name who was playing, but he is amazing on the piano. "Edge of Seventeen" and "Stand Back" were just crazy. Everyone in the crowd was standing and screaming. I am hoping to get my voice back soon, but it was so worth it. Stevie did not disappoint the 6 year old that is still inside of me---plenty of "Stevie spins". It is not possible for me to pick the highlight of the show. The whole show was a highlight. From start to finish, this was spectacular. Yet another enchanted evening with the Queen of Rock and Roll, thank you Stevie.
Cara Ford I just have to say it: I am in complete awe at the fact that Stevie Nicks is 57! (I mean no disrespect in that comment....only admiration!). I saw Stevie perform at Summerfest on July 4, and it was the 5th time I've seen her perform and by far the best, if anything because her voice just sounded unbelievable! She was very animated and friendly, and you could just tell she is enjoying herself and takes her music seriously. It was the first time I've ever heard Beauty and the Beast performed live, and I had chills down my spine. Normally that song is not my favorite, but hearing her sing it flawlessly made me realize how special it is. After she sang it, she said "Who is the beauty, who the beast? It's important these days to ask ourselves that." Very powerful. I loved her outfits, as always. And am just so happy that she's happy and still at the top of her game, after all she has been through. She really is a great role model for everyone, and I felt honored to be in her presence.
Brian I'll be honest, I am a big Vanessa Carlton fan and I
went to the show mostly to see her, and ended up
staying for Stevie Nicks.
Boy am I glad I did. I didn't really have much of a
background about Nicks, her music, etc. but she put on
a flawless performance. Even without knowing most of
the songs or lyrics, it was still an extremely
enjoyable performance. Her band was awesome, and the
video board choreography was very impressive. I'm sure
for a fan of Stevie and her music, this would have
been the perfect show, considering how much I enjoyed
it as just a casual observer. I can definitely see why
many of today's artists look up to and try to emulate
Stevie with their music.

Cyndi Aspinall When I look back on the July 4th concert in Milwaukee, the only word that comes to mind is AMAZING! It was a perfect night with a perfect atmosphere for Stevie to show how magnificent she can be. She is one of few true artists left in the music industry. She is a shining star and it was never more evident than last night!
Vanessa Calton opened the show with a burst of enthusiasm. The girl really knows what she's doing. I've never really heard much of her music, other than her few songs that get played on the radio, which I feel don't really showcase what this girl is made of! She has such a pure voice and she has such a great talent. She will go places! At first I wasn't sure what to think of her opening for Stevie, but now I see its purpose! She played her song, "White Houses", which has gone unplayed because of its sexual nature. I absolutely loved it! She kept the crowd entertained for nearly 40 minutes. I think many concert-goers eyes were opened last night to a younger upcoming artists!
On to the main act, Stevie! I have to say she looked great. She is not young anymore, but she hasn't aged a bit! My mother was completely taken by her. She couldn't believe how Stevie has remained timeless. My mother saw Fleetwood Mac almost exactly 25 years ago and hasn't gone to a show since. She said Stevie hasn't lost a thing in all the years. She is as good, if not better than she remembers! I've loved Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac as long as I can remember listening to music, but I've never seen her in concert. I'm 20 years old and I've seen my share of shows, but this was unlike anything I've ever seen.
I still can't believe how energetic she is! I've never seen anyone move like her. I always impersonate her, but even I at 20 can not match her moves! She came out on stage and rocked it up with "Enchanted". I know the setlist on nicksfix.com say different, but I remember it being "Enchanted" right off the bat. It was a great way to start the show off. It was energetic, upbeat, and really got the crowd going.
"Dreams" is one of those songs that sticks out in my mind. I've never heard it without Fleetwood Mac behind her. I was nervous at first. How was it going to sound with out Christine or Lindsey, but WOW! She really made it her own. She made up for the missing men and proved its not "their" song, but her song!
I don't really remember the exact order of the playlist, but I believe the next song was "Outside The Rain" which was the opening song to her Live At The Red Rocks concert. I love that DVD! If you don't have it- get it! It is a great show and is funny to watch! (Sorry Stevie, but you must admit, the 80's were out there!) Anyway, she performed the song just as she always does. I always feel it has a "Tom Petty tone" to it! I love Tom, so I love this song! She does it so passionately. She really grabbed me with her voice in this song. You could definitely feel her emotion.
Speaking of Tom Petty, "Stop Dragging My Heart Around" was another vivid moment in the show. I love that song! Thats all thats to it! How can you not? Stevie! Tom! Together!? Can it get any better?! Though Tom was not present, it was still very well done.
"Rhiannon" was spectacular! I hardly have words to describe it. It was great as usual. That sounds so plain, but how often can you really say that about someone? Hardly ever! I think this is the song where she adlibbed at the end? I know every version of this song possible. She changed it from the original in the Dance Tour and even in the Live in Boston performance. I liked the new change. The music was so loud, the only words I could grab out of it was "baby baby" and then the rest was distorted.
Stevie played a few songs from the Trouble in Shangri-La show. "Sorcerer" was so dramatic. She really acted out the song. She moved her hands above her head and immitating actions of a sorcerer. I missed the backup vocals of Sheryl on this one, but it was still great nonetheless. "Fall From Grace" is by far my favorite on the TISL album. It is so different from any other song she has sang. I liked the end of the song! No, not because it was over, but the "to make sure you survive" that comes at the end was so very powerful. Stevie's voice is at her best! She really puts so much effort into it. She nearly and literally punches the words at you!
"Stand Back" was, in my generation's language, "bumpin"! I love that song! It is currently on one of my playlists called "Listen to Loud Only". That's the only way it should be heard! "Edge of Seventeen" is also on this list and was also "bumpin" last night! The lightshow was amazing and the band was on fire! The devotion these guys and girls have for Stevie is obvious. They are like one big happy family out there. By the way Stevie describes them, you can tell they have a definite place in her heart.
At one point in the show, Stevie talked about the importance of relieving Africa from its debt. She played the song "Has Anyone Ever Written Anthing For You" for the children of Africa who are starving. It was a great moment in the show. I could really tell how strongly she feels for this cause. The end again was the highlight in my opinion. She adlibbed the end again. Usually it says "poet...priest of nothing". She sang it last night as "poet....priest of nothing...legends". It is entirely true when regarding the men in her life. I don't think there is one who will not be considered a legend!
"Circle Dance" was welcomed by the audience. It is a Bonnie Raitt song that I am familiar with, but many others may not be. It is a good way to describe letting someone go. I think everyone can relate to it in some way or fashion. I can only speculate who Stevie sings this about, but it had personal meaning for me as well. I'm glad she has included it on this tour.
"Landslide" is a classic. It's priceless really. I think it has such an overwhelming meaning for her fans, that it can almost bring you to tears. I'm not a crier, but I was so grateful for just being able to see her in concert. It was all slow motion for me. I can't imagine being anywhere else except at that show!
For an encore she played "Rock and Roll", a Led Zepplin cover. I was shocked! I wasn't expecting it at all. I, instead was expecting "I need to know", a Tom Petty cover. The result of the change was me caught off guard and surprised, but totally astounded by her. What a difficult song for a woman to sing! She pulled it off! Zepplin did it, Heart did it, but when Stevie did it; it became my new favorite song!
I think the costume change had something to do with it. Stevie brought back her black top hat with the feather! I LOVE THAT HAT! I would do anything to get my hands on it! Stevie really moved during this song. I don't think her legs stopped moving until the song was over. She is really in great shape!
The last song was "Beauty and the Beast". I love this song. It really allows Stevie to show her capabilities, which after last night, seem endless. It was a heart-felt song that moved me tremendously. I will never forget it! I will never forget that night! Stevie really put on a performance to remember. It was the best 4th of July I could imagine. Stevie is irreplaceable. In my opinion, she is the best female artist of the past, present, and future. I don't know how anyone could not see the effort and talent Stevie possesses. I absolutely love her to death! Thanks for an AMAZING night!! Come back soon!
Jackie Jones The show last night in Milwaukee at Summerfest was awesome! I have seen The Mac in person but never Stevie's solo show.It was truly breathtaking! My favorite is still Landslide and the photo show behind her was really great. She gives her heart to us with each and every song.her voice is a powerhouse, and it always shows true on Rhiannon. She should put her renditions of Raitt's and Zepplin's songs on her next album.
I hope she continues to do solo shows as well as it would be great to see a Buckingham-Nicks album and tour! Keep on Rockin', Stevie!
Kate I could not have been more excited for this show. I went to the Chicago
show a couple weeks earlier and chickened out when it came time to go up to
the stage for Edge of Seventeen. I thought I had missed out on my only
chance to shake Stevie's hand. So last night's show was my big second
chance and I was really hoping to actually making it up to the stage this
time. I was not disappointed! Once again I had amazing seats, about 7th row
in the side section. While Vanessa Carlton was playing I happened to spot
Stevie's percussionist, Taku, in the audience. I hated to bother him as he
was probably trying to enjoy Vanessa's performance, but I really wanted to
meet him and tell him how great he is. He was gracious enough to give me an
autograph while I nervously chattered on, probably boring him! (Taku - if
you happen to read these, thanks again for your time. You are so incredibly
talented and your contribution to the show is amazing!) Stevie looked and
sounded perfect as usual. I was so excited to hear her sing Sorcerer and
Fall From Grace, as I have never heard her sing them live before. I was
wondering who would sing Tom Petty's part for Stop Draggin' My Heart
Around. Waddy did an excellent job - such talent! But the biggest moment of
the night was when I actually did make it up to the stage at the end of
Edge of Seventeen. I was able to get right up next to the stage and was
lucky enough to shake Stevie's hand. What a thrill! I couldn't believe it.
Luckily I got to stay right next to the stage for the last two songs. Rock
'n' Roll was so fun and Beauty and the Beast was simply magical. I'm not
sure I'll get to go to anymore shows this summer, but last night was so
special. It was truly one of the best nights of my life :)
TJ It's 1:30 a.m. and I just got home from the best night of my life. I have
been to many Stevie concerts since 1986 and this was by far the best. We had
center seats in the 11th row, this is the closest we have ever been. It's so
amazing how beautiful Stevie is after knowing what she has been through in
her life. Her band rocked, so cool to see Waddy back with her. I don't need
to say what songs she performed as you all know them already. The highlights
of the evening for me was definitely her cover of "Rock and Roll", she
performed that song so well and you could see how much fun she was having.
As everyone has said "Beauty and the Beast" was outstanding. All the songs
had a crisp new feel to them and she even added some new lyrics to some of
her classics. If you are reading these reviews and don't have plans on going
to her show your really missing out. Oh and there was plenty of Stevie
merchandise for sale just no tour books. So get on ticketmaster and go see
the best concert of the summer...
