Stevie Nicks Summer 2005 FAN REVIEWS

Amanda What an amazing night!! I arrived about 40 minutes before the show started. There was a local performer who opened for Stevie & Don. I never caught her name because I was meeting and mingling with other fans before the show started.
Don Henley opened with "The Genie." he did several more songs and then Stevie same out of the darkness-like she had been waiting in the wings- and joined him on "Hotel California." She was wearing jeans and looked absolutley wonderful and so down to earth! (God I hope I look that great when I'm her age!!) The two of them sounded great singing this song together. In fact, I think it sounded better than the original Eagles version. Everything Stevie touches she turns to gold and it shines, just as she did one the stage last night at the Tweeter Center.
The most moving performance of the evening was when Stevie sang "Beauty and the Beast." This had never been one of my favorite songs until I saw her perform it last night. She really poured herself into this song and it was truly moving. She was wearing her hair in a "messy bun" and wore a black velvet cape/dress-looked stunning as always!!
Don Henley sang back up with Stevie on "Gold Dust Woman" and sang Tom Petty's part in "Stop Draggin my heart Around." They were great together- very in tune with each others movements and vocal harmonies.
I was sitting in section 1- seat 4. I was 9 rows from the stage!! I had a great seat and was surrounded by great people the whole night. (Thanks Tim (my partner in crime), for helping me take the pictures-please email me so I can send the doubles to you!!)
Throughout the evening, I was carrying around a tote bag I had custom made for stevie. My friend made a gorgeous bag for her with all the signs of the zodiac- it was black, teal, purple and had gold and teal stars in the stitching &on the handles. I stuffes the bag with some ty beanie babies (teddy bears), some crystals for her and her back up singers and some jewelry I also had custom made for Stevie (from another friend). When Stevie sang "Edge of Seventeen," I was able to give these gifts toher!! She came to the edge of the stage and reached out her hand to all the fans. I was lucky enough to be able to hold her hand for a few seconds (she had perfectly french maincured nails!!), but not for long. Security was really tight (right on her back) and she had many more fans to bless with her presence.
I thought it was very odd that I was the only person giving gifts to Stevie. I really didn't see anyone else giving her teddy bears or flowers, etc. Maybe this is something people do in other venues (?) in bigger cities more often. If anyone knows anything about this or why, please let me know.
Anyway, the one word to summarize the whole experience was ASTOUNDING!! It was a very positive experience all the way around. I hope you all enjoy the rest of Stevie's tour w/ Don (and her solo "Gold Dust Tour") as much as I did last night!! Love & light to you all.
P.S. Thanks, Dad for doing all the driving (and paying for parking & gas)
Karen Biddy I was at the Stevie Nicks and Don Henley @ Mansfield Mass on June 8th. WHAT A SHOW. I have seen Stevie Nicks over twenty times and man she sounds better than ever?? When she performed Beauty and the Beast, I was blown away. And to have Don Henley as a bonus was just great. I especially loved to hear them both do each other songs. I was three rows away from the stage and Stevie looks fantastic!!!!! I think putting those two together to perform was a wonderful idea and I am sure many fans would agree. I have to say that this was one of the best shows I have ever seen. I was truly amazed. I hope in the future they consider touring again together. If they do I am there. Good job to both of you, you did great!
Lorene Casey-Socobasin I ordered my tickets through the iloveallaccess.com link that I found on
the Nickfix. I was a little nervous about it because you didn't get your
tickets or even know where you were going to sit until you got to the
show and picked them up at the specially marked window. My best friend
Debbie went with me and she was late picking me up at work. Even more
nervous. The ride is about an hour with no traffic and man was it hot
that day. We've just come out of a week long stretch of hazy, hot and
humid weather. Anyway, she picked me up and we hit no traffic on the way
and made it to the venue by about 6:30. We proceeded to the ticket
window and they gave us our tickets and our special gift. The gift was a
very nice pen set. One pen says Stevie Nicks and the other says Don
Henley. Very nice. We were pleased. Then I looked at the tickets.
Section 2. Yeah!!! Center section!!!! Row L. Yeah again!!! 12 rows back
from the stage!!! So, we grabbed a sandwich and a soda and sat down to
eat. We travelled on over to our seats and they were not 12 rows back
from the stage. The seating doesn't start with row A. They filled in the
floor space between the first row of seats and the stage with 4 rows of
folding chairs. Including those 4 rows of chairs, we were 10 rows back
from the stage. If you don't include them, we were 6 rows from the
stage. We were definitely excited!! They had an opening act, a girl,
Julianna Ray I think was her name. Though her voice was not unpleasant,
the songs all kind of sounded the same. I also think we were just like
dying for Don Henley to come out so she didn't sound as good because of
that. Anyway, she played for about 20 minutes and then left the stage.
Out comes Henley. Pitch perfect as always he performs The Genie, Witchy
Woman (very fitting if it was actually written about Stevie as so many
rumours have been told) and I Put A Spell On You. He then goes into
Hotel California and part way into it Stevie walks out on to the stage
and the crowd goes nuts. The crowd definitely seemed to favor Stevie. I
was completely floored by how good she looked. She's lost so much weight
that it's actually made her facial features look years younger. She's
almost as thin as she was back in the early 80's. She's always well
received in Boston. How interesting it was to hear her join him on this
song. Their voices still just wrap around each other. They perform New
York Minute and The Last Worthless Evening together as well and they do
it beautifully. Stevie leaves the stage and Don tells us that she will
be back. Don finishes his set and includes Boys of Summer, Heart of the
Matter, Dirty Laundry, Life in the Fast Lane and All She Wants to Do is
Dance before he leaves the stage. Okay, he comes back out for an encore
which includes End of the Innocence and our favorite, Desperado. Of
course, he pauses before that last "late" comes out, the crowd goes nuts
during the pause and Henley can't believe that we won't quiet down so he
can finish the last word. It was an awesome set! We get a little
intermission and I give my daughter a call. I say "Guess what my $175
bought me?" She says "What?" I say "10th row center stage!!" She says
"Are you sh***ing me?" I say "NO I AM NOT!!!!" I then call Timmy and
tell him where we are sitting. He tells me "Tell Stevie I love her!!!"
He's such a goober sometimes. We get back to our seats and in just a
minute Stevie takes the stage. The crowd goes nuts! She does Outside the
Rain, Dreams, Rhiannon and Enchanted before Don joins her on stage for a
great rendition of Gold Dust Woman. The also do a cover of Bonnie
Raitte's Circle Dance. What a beautiful song!! You should have heard the
way their voices just melded together. It was incredible. Don leaves the
stage and Stevie continues her set with Stand Back which was full of
energy as usual. Beauty and the Beast was next and was definitely the
highlight of the show for me. What a treat to hear her do this song
live. My girlfriend didn't know this song and when she had finished the
song, Deb looked at me and said "That was awesome! She couldn't have
done any better on that if she tried!" I agree. I had goosebumps!!! Edge
of Seventeen was the end of her set. She left the stage and came back
out with Don for an encore. They did Stop Dragging My Heart Around.
Great job! And then there was Leather and Lace. The crowd was overjoyed
as was I that we got to hear this song performed live and by the
original artists together on one stage for the first time in so many
years. What a treat. I knew there was supposed to be one more song, they
were supposed to do So You Wanna Be A Rock and Roll Star but the house
lights came on instead. Looking at our watches, we saw that it was 11
pm. If the artists run past the time limit, they have to pay a really
big fine. I think the venue, knowing that there was only one song left,
should have allowed them to finish it up with no fine. Oh well, what can
you do. It was a magical night. I'm so glad that we spent the money.
This was definitely a show you don't want to miss and if you have the
opportunity to see it, do not pass it up!!!
Kim & Glenda The show at The Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA on June 8, 2005 was
truly phenomenal. To witness Don & Stevie together was a great pleasure. Their voices were outstanding.
There was magic in this very special night... Young & old gathered to see the best of the best. I had taking my mom ( A few years before she passed away ) To a Stevie Nicks concert - picked her up in a limo and had the very best time. In spirit, my mom was with me on Wednesday night.
To the band & singers thank you all for the memories.
I may just have to travel to see the show again!
To the audience : Thank you for being polite - and a lot of fun.
I was fortunate enough to get last minute tickets - fourth row, section three. Quite a few times I have attending Stevie's concert and been close enough to make it to the stage - and shake her hand...
Stevie's audience ADORES HER! There were a few women & girls who so desperately wanted to get to the stage... My friend & I helped a few to get to the stage - and told them when to raise their hands to shake Stevie's... We let these people go in front of us - because we had that opportunity many times before. To those fans I am so happy you will hold that moment in your mind forever - The heart takes amaing pictures.
I am so proud that this crowd did not shove and push...
I hope at all shows fans will be respectful to one another and Stevie.
Pattie I took a half day off from work and headed out to Mansfield from Providence (the one in Rhode Island) which took about less then a half hour. I got to the box office around 1:15 in hopes of a ticket release. Nothing yet. Meantime I had a little helper who was checking Ticketmaster for me religiously. Sec 3 Row T seemed to be the only thing coming up. I was checking at the box office about every 5 minutes. While I was there I noticed quite a few people coming up to the box office for the 'residents' tickets. I asked at the box office what that was about. It seems that residents of the towns of Mansfield and Norton, Ma were able to come up and get a free ticket for the show. They were located in the back of sections 4 and 8, which were not the best, but at least they were free and they were better then lawn seats. They just had to show a drivers license or something and they got 2 free tickets. I swear that everybody and their brother in those towns were there to get their tickets. Most of the people could not even believe it! Most of them thought that Stevie was a guy. LOL
While I was there I also talked with Chuck Nowlan who is a DJ from WZLX in Boston. He told me about the ZLX ticket upgrade were if you had a lawn seat and you go up to an usher and ask them for a ZLX upgrade that you would get a seat in the pavilion area. He was not sure were but it was something that I did consider as a last resort.
I also found out that as of 4 days before the show that only 5000 tickets were sold. I wonder if that was why they were giving tickets to the town people. The clerk told me that she had been there for a few years and that they had never done that before.
I waited and waited and it was now around 4:30 and nothing. I met up with Ledgie Tina (Teedee) who was so nice! The poor thing stayed and waited with me. It was now 7:15pm and still nothing. Someone who had a 'townie' ticket asked 'who wants a free ticket?" Luckily someone was right there and said 'she needs one". So now I at least had a Sec 4 Row BB ticket. LOL Hey, at least I knew I would be going to see the show.
Ok, there is no denying that I am a spoiled brat so of course I was still waiting for those great seats. I met a nice fan that hooked me up with someone selling a Sec 3 Row J ticket. The way the rows are set up that was actually 5th row. I figured that I should take it so I did. I get in grab a water and sit at a picnic bench because I was so dehydrated. I found out that there was an opening act so I figured that I would stay on the bench for a while because basically I could not walk. I then head to my seat and release that my row is a lot closer then I thought. It was actually 3rd row.
Juliana Ray was finishing up her set. I thought that she had a pretty voice but her type of music just did not appeal to me.
Don then came on and opened with 'The Genie". I liked the song and thought that it had kind of a funky beat.
Witchy Woman was next and is one of my favs. Don said that "Halloween was early this year" I would have really loved to hear Stevie on this one. The place would have gone wild.
Don did "I put a Spell on You" next and that was OK. I was not that excited with that song.
Next was "Hotel California". I heard the crowd roar before I even saw the little blonde emerge from the shadows on the right side of the stage. I did not write down what lines she sang and I don't remember. Sorry.
New York Minute was the next song. Stevie sang on these verses:
Lying here in the darkness
I hear the sirens wail
Somebody going to emergency
Somebody's going to jail
If you find somebody to love in this world
You better hang on tooth and nail
The wolf is always at the door
She sang these verses: "If you find somebody to love in this world
You better hang on tooth and nail" with some real strong emotion and she was even putting her arm up and motioning with her hand.
Very expressive on Stevie's part.
She kind of put her arms out and did this mechanical dance. God I hope that there is a video so that you can see what I am talking about.
The next song was "The Last Worthless Evening". Stevie sang on these lines:
I see you around sometimes
And my heart just melts
Your looking like if you had your wish
You'd be somewhere else
And it just breaks my heart
To see you here this way
Someday I'll get the nerve
To walk up to you and say
That song moved a bit slow I thought.
I won't go into the rest of Don's set but I did enjoy it.
After a stage change Stevie came on to do her set. She opened with Outside The Rain/Dreams. How original. Stevie said "Welcome Everybody, Hello"
Next was Rhiannon. I was too busy taking photos to notice anything.
Enchanted I had to sit down for because I just felt ill all of a sudden. Must have been the hot dog I ate. Gold Dust Woman had a different feel to it with Don but it was still good. Stop Dragging My Heart Around was pretty cool. Stevie was really getting into it but Don's voice did not fit the song. I think that Don is a great singer but he just was a bit reserved on the song. Circle Dance I have to say is where I enjoyed Don's vocal's more. Stevie introduced it as a song that Bonnie Raitt wrote for her father (who was the broadway star John Raitt) and said that it was beautiful and that they loved it. It seemed to hold a special place in Stevie's heart.
Don kissed Stevie on the cheek before he left the stage.
Stand Back was OK. I really am starting to think of it as a Mac song. Yes, I was looking for Lindsey for a split second. Beauty and The Beast was basically the same as Vegas. The person next to me fell asleep.
Edge of 17 people were already lined up at the stage before SB so I did not bother to go up there. I know that they were other people who wanted to touch her and I had already done that twice in Vegas.
Leather and Lace was nice to hear with Don. Stevie's set just seemed to fly right by.
I had a great time and I am glad that I went. If you wanted to just hear Stevie do her songs then this might not have been the show for you. Otherwise I would highly recommend it.

Dustin I saw Stevie Nicks and Don Henley at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA on Wednesday night. Although I am one of Stevie's biggest fans and of course went to see her, Don Henley put on an excellent performance especially when Stevie came out and did a few duets with him. I particularly loved the song "In a New York Minute." That was beautiful. When Stevie took the stage for her duets with Don, she wore a pixie hem jacket type of top with fitted jeans that had rhinestones down the seams on the sides and her boots!! You can tell Stevie lost weight and she looked and sounded AMAZING!!!!! Her voice is stronger than ever... stronger than "The Dance"...stronger than the "Say You Will" tour....Stevie had so much energy this concert and to us fans who pay attention to these things, she seemed to really enjoy this concert and not look like "oh yeah.. same old songs again...I have no energy..." etc etc. Stevie spun at least 10 times on 2 different occassions!!!!! The pictures and display
During "Stand Back" they showed Stevie on the screen spinning and spinning and I thought "Oh no, she's not going to spin" but then she spun about 10 times in a row and surprized me and I'm sure a lot of other fans!
During "Rhiannon" Stevie whailed and gave it her all and wore her chiffon flowing sleeves "Rhiannon" top. At the end she screamed "you silly silly silly dreamer!!!"" OH JUST AMAZING!!!!
During "Edge of 17" I got to move down about 10 rows and be just about 5 rows away from her.. (darn, why didn't I bring my camera!!)... She kept screaming and continuing to add her amazing and stronger than ever vocals to this song.. screaming at the end..."I know what it sounds like in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!" OH CAN I DIE NOW?
She put her own adlib spins on all of our favorite songs and honestly I have to say this is the best Stevie concert I've been to and I've enjoyed this one the most... please for all you Stevie fans, old fans and new fans, old fans and young fans...PLEASE SEE THIS CONCERT!!!!
This is my 8th time seeing Stevie and this concert can not even compare to any of them... not even the concert where I had front row and my seat was directly in front of Stevie's microphone!!!!!
ROCK ON, STEVIE... WE LOVE YOU!!!!
Sue & Bill Wow! Just had to write about this awesome show! Two great rockers--"The Eagle and The Nightbird" rocked the house for 3 hours.
Don sang three awesome songs...Witchy Woman, The Genie, and I put a spell on you..then out came Stevie! She joined him for Hotel California, New York Minute, and Last Worthless Evening--they rocked together--was so cool to see Stevie duet with him for those songs--she can wrap her voice around anyone!
Stevie had some awesome costume changes--but absolutely rocked in her "casual" ( RHINESTONE STUDDED-WOW) :) but elegant pants she wore while singing with Don--she had on this gorgeous black robe and her hair was up for Beauty and the Beast--the movie in black and white, behind her was just an awesome addition. I loved the piano ballad during "Rhiannon" too. Her background images just added so very much to her already beautiful presence!
Of course they sand "Leather and Lace"---and it was soooo cute because Stevie was trying to give Don part of her lace and he declined...was really sweet! Was a hot evening--both temperature-wise and onstage! I am so glad we went--we had a blast--and Stevie fans just rock anyway! Oh yes--I just have to say this--at 57--they both are gorgeous. THANK YOU STEVIE AND DON FOR YOUR MUSIC AND A CHANCE TO SEE YOU SING TOGETHER--YOU BOTH ROCK!
Chris WOW ! It was booked as a magical night, solo and together and it sure was! What a combination they are,,,,,SO much energy, So much electricity in the air when they are onstage together....
Don Henley did a great job starting the night off. He came out strong, and never stopped. I hadn't seen him before live and he made me wish I had. Great vocals, and great old favs. Stevie joined him for a few, including Hotel California and the crowd went wild! They were awesome together, and even got a little dancing in.
After a short intermission, remix played and here came Stevie!!! She ROCKED the house! She truly is sounding stronger than ever. She stuck to set list, and had the crowd on the very first song! She got us to our feet and kept us there all night!! A costume change before 'Beauty and the beast' gave us a chance to sit, and I think out of respect to her performance of that song we stayed seated only for that one number. She looked incredible all dressed up for it, and it was an totally emotional to experience hearing her sing it. I think my personal fav of the night tho was Rhiannon....which she really seemed to REALLY get in to. She used raw energy up for a rendition of it that may be unsurpassable...I have never heard it done better......twirls during 4 songs I think( 8 in one song), I lost count because she had me so 'enchanted'
THANKS STEVIE FOR A TRULY MAGICAL NIGHT!!
Shawn Lawley What a fantastic concert, to see Stevie and Don perform together was an
amazing experience.
Stevie looked and sounded amazing as always. Seeing her live never fails to
mesmerize the audience. Everyone was on there feet dancing and singing
right along with her.
Beauty And the Beast was a very powerful performance, Stevie, you bring me
to tears.
And of course the show stopper, Leather and Lace. Unbelievable!!!!
Thank you both
Much Love
MaryAnn Wiedl Last night was one of the finest moments in the history of Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA. It was a warm evening, and although not a sell-out, there was a very large audience of people who all seemed to know and love the music of Don Henley and Stevie Nicks.
The first part of the show was Don Henley's, with some duets with Stevie. He did favorites, and the sound and selections were excellent. The songs Stevie sang in that opening half were a preview of what would follow. Stevie's voice, stage presence, and passion are unequalled. She and Don Henley definitely do the most beautiful imaginable duets; I just don't thing there are many other singers who can sparkle when sharing the stage with Don Henley.
Then, came the second half. Ohmygosh....Stevie Nicks is an inspiration to all of us age-compatible women. She is talented, strong, passionate, beautiful, and classy, and put on a set that was so strong it was like she alone was putting off the looming thunderstorms. Her music is gorgeous...it's meaningful, sexy, timeless, and fun. Through the set, she just kept getting better and better and better. By the time of the finale, Leather and Lace with Don Henley, the audience was just in another dimension from appreciation of the show we had just witnessed.
Not to be left out is Stevie Nick's band and back-up singers. They are just excellent, and very innovative. The whole show simply worked with a capital W, and the heartfelt niceness of the people on that stage came through loud and clear.
Thanks to everyone involved in that show. I would see it six more times if I could!!
Jim Nolan In many words Juliana Ray opened the show. She played a solo acoustical set, and I sure wish
she could have started earlier and played a little later so I could have heard
more from her. Don Henley & his band played a song or two. The second, Witchy Woman, was
well received by us all. Stevie came out & did a couple of songs with him
after that, and again a bit later. They traded off lyrical lines and chorus
with great flowing harmony in each. He played for about 2 hours, and then her
band was quickly set up for the next two. Stevie opened up with "Outside the
Rain", and there's a seam, which flows smoothly from that into "Dreams". Waddy
Wactel was facing the audience more than the last show they'd played. The band
is coming together well now. Don came out from time to time and returned to
Stevie greatest assistance just as he'd received. These two could probably
jump into one another's songs on a whim without practice, so be ready for
anything. The set list posted for the first show differs slightly from the
past two shows I've seen.
In Rock & Roll, going solo has broken more careers than it has made. Don &
Stevie succeeded not by rule or exception, but effort. Sure is fitting these
two should get together again, and I was always hoping they would. Both began
their solo careers almost simultaneously, and this sort of self-employment may
have left them feeling a little uneasy back then - They're totally on top of
their careers now, and still in best form as long ago, if not better than when
they started.
"Leather & Lace" was number 36 in Billboard's top 100 singles for 1982. A
huge feat, and the song is still popular over 20 years later.
Concertgoers - The albums are great - Perfect, but always exactly the same.
It's slightly different each and every time bands play live. We always enjoy
it. It's like a new album we?ll hear only once.
"Two Voices" And in two words - "Extraordinarily Uplifting"
Adrienne I saw the Stevie Nicks Summer 2005 Tour in Mansfield, MA at the Tweeter Centrer and it was an amazing concert!!!! Stevie and Don were great together and Stevie was even better solo! Her singing truly gets better with age and she looked incredible! The concert opened with Don Henley and then Stevie came out and joined him for a couple of songs. Then Don finished up solo and Stevie came out solo and stole the crowd! They ended the show with a duo performance of "Forever Lovers" and left the crowd and fans begging for more! This was a once-in-lifetime classic event! I was excited to hear about Stevie's solo tour starting June 24th, but I was a little disappointed to see she wasn't come back to the NorthEast again.
Jeannie Higginbottom I attended the show last night at the tweeter center in Mansfield, Ma..There was alot of anticipation on my behalf about the show because all I could think about was Stevie and Don Henley? what could they do together? Well let me tell you first of all Don Henley came out first and his voice was so strong and clear and his accompanying band was phenominal!! Stevie joined him for a few of his best Eagles songs and their voices complimented each other beautifuly! Then it was Stevies turn and I must say she was the most vibrant, energetic, and beautiful I have ever seen her.. Her voice was clear and strong!! Her clothes were gorgeous and I loved her new set with the screens in the backround.. so all I can say if you are on the fence about going.... GO!! You will be sorry if you don't... The night was truly magical!!
Allison F. Parker Hi John:
I hope you are well. We saw Stevie & Don last night in Mansfield Mass. Don
Henley looked and sounded marvelous. Stevie appeared during Hotel
California, and the entire place went ballistic. She looks great, and had
boots on for her duos with Don. Stevie didn't start her solo performance
until almost 10 pm, but revived the weary audience immediately! I was
surprised yesterday to see Beauty and the Beast on the song list, but she
gave a captivating performance. Her hair was up, and she had a wonderful
black velvet robe. Her voice is better than ever. Another bonus, Wally
was onstage, always great to see him.
Highly recommend the show!
Sean T. I've just returned from the show in Boston, MA. Simply Amazing. The
opening act was some woman with a good voice, but her songs almost put me to
sleep. Then Don Henley came on looking great. His voice was strong and
good to hear. He started with a song I'm not familiar, and then peformed
"Witchy Woman", "I put a spell on you", "Hotel California"(with Stevie!),
and others including "Boys of Summer" and "Dirty Laundry". When Stevie came
on to do her set, the crowd went absolutely wild. She started with the
combined "Outside the Rain/Dreams" and also did "Rhiannon", "Beauty and the
Beast"(this one was astounding! Standing Ovation), "Stand Back"(The
highlight of the show, very intense), and "Edge of Seventeen". The final
encore, of course, was "Leather and Lace" which sounded as beautiful as the
version they recorded so many years ago. It was an excellent show, and I
wouldn't have missed it for anything!
