Well what can I say but WOW ! Stevie I don't know if you will remember me, but I was the guy dressed in black with a black baseball cap standing at front left center of the stage. The whole night you had me spellbound as you weaved your magic at the microphone. My all time favourite song is Gypsy, and I loved you singing Beauty & The Beast that night. I heard a woman yelling out for you to sing Storms, so I tried to yelling out Gyspy, but I think modesty and politeness prevented me being heard well enough. I guess everyone has dreams and goals in life, and one of mine has always been to meet you in person. Well that night my dream came true as you graciously took my outstretched hand in both your hands and smiled down at me. To tell you the truth I was speechless, partly because everything seemed so etheral at the moment, and also because I didn't want to say something corny like you must hear a thousand times by fans. I guess I just wanted to savour that fleeting moment. There was lady standing next to me who I had been chatting to earlier and who had dropped her hat. I picked up her hat and handed it to her. Later in the concert she handed you this hat and you put it on your head. I could see this lady was so thrilled. As you stood there I reached over and secretly rubbed one of your boots (for good luck). If anyone at the concert remembers Stevies boots that night, they were black with raised soles and had diamonds or rhinestones set into the front...very gothic-esque. I still tell people I got to touch Stevie Nicks boots. If I had to choose three items which signify Stevie Nicks, I would have to say 1. tambourine 2. shawl 3. boots. The only thing I regreted was not bringing my digital camera, and a rose which I had wanted to give you...after all every lady deserves flowers ! Stevie I hope you will come back to our shores to do many more concerts. When you do I would love to buy you a drink and thank you for your music...for it means so much to many and is timeless ! Some singers become legends, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton and Elvis are a few. Others are legends and queens of hearts. Stevie, for all the happiness, love and charity you have given people through your music and status, I say thank you. You are truly an angel on earth.

Hi Stevie and Band, I went with a Friend Hi Lorna, to the Brisbane Show, I just have a little thing to say to you Stevie, Bless your Big Heart, You give me Goosies and You have Still got it. A Question to you. What was the Framed Picture you recieved at the Concert. The expression on your face, makes me wonder. Dream on Beautiful Lady

My daughter and I were fortunate to have purchased with the help of a wonderful friend , 3rd row back and centre tickets to Stevie's Brisbane gig, Australia . We spent the whole evening from the moment her presence was known , stage front, immersed in the wonder of her softly Goddess energy. To have been so close was incredible . Stevie's presence was awsomely powerful and her song selection was breathtakingly beautiful, sung with so much heart . To have been able to have been a receiver of her handshake and gracious smile was simply amazing, but when I offered Stevie my black "Stevie " hat that I wore and her momentarily putting it on her head, removing it and keeping it with other fan offerings and gifts was simply an honour to me that she still has ( well I think she does , wether she keeps it or offers it forwarding it to charity is of no consequence. . . simply the night belonged to the thought that my hat was on Stevie's head, all be it for not very long ! ) A week later I am still thoughful about it all and there will never be anything that will ever event or stay present within me more than my meeting with Stevie and this tour .( Saw her last year touring with Fleetwood Mac ) A fan for years and life times . . .

Thank you, thank you. I saw the Brisbane concert and thought it was wonderful and rockin'! What a great band you have (though a little too loud at times, drowning you out.) It was a lovely surprise to see you start with Outside the Rain and I am a huge fan of Fall from Grace (hehe..I'm sure you wrote that about my ex-husband!) Edge of Seventeen was totally rocking, while Beauty and the Beast left me teary. And hearing If Anyone Falls for the first time in about ten years was cool too. The photo backdrops during Landslide were gorgeous. It must be hard to choose a song list from so many, otherwise you'd be there all night singing them all. On the whole, it was a great experience. Thanks for the memories and the music.

Thank you Stevie for an amazing performance I spent the entire concert with my friend right at the front of the stage in front of waddy, I have never had the opportunity to be that close to the stage before. Thank you for coming to the front of the stage to meet us and shake our hands. Thank you Waddy for personally giving me your guitar pick, I will treasure it and thank you Carlos for signing my concert book. Everyone played awesomely and it was a great concert.

Went to the Brisbane show on the 20th which was awesome, as Stevie always is, I can't believe how talented someone can be!!! I was very dissappointed in the seats I brought through showbiz on the net, they offered pre-sale tickets for the best seats for $200.00 ea, when I recieved the tickets $170.00 was printed on them so I rang an queried why the rip off, they said they had to charge promoters fees etc..when we get to our seats they are half way down the back up the side, we just couldn't believe it. It was $800 for 4 seats, any way luckily my younger friends thought that wasn't good enough so off we go during intermission trying to get a better spot, which as you know if bloody hard with security, so we get to the other side closer to the stage but were soon picked up by security who took us back to our original seats, I then just asked this security lady if there was anyway she could round up some better seats, and to my surprise she did. She got another security guy to take us to unoccupied seats near the stage up the side. Which was certainly better viewing of the lady who've I have loved and admired for 20 years. She's just georgous and has lost a lot of weight since I saw her last with Fleetwood Mac. I flew from Cairns to go to the concert and would like to thank the security lady who helped us, all I've ever wanted was to get as close as I can to Stevie at her concerts but how do you do it? I always buy tickets soon as they go on sale but just end up with crappy seats, any way a word of warning about showbiz for future events stick to ticketek. Also a quick work about the Boondall Entertainment Centre, it should really be called Long Bay Prison, we couldn't smoke outside - where we were close to other people, we were sent out to the carpark in the gutter!!!! When I was there last november to see John Fogerty we could smoke AND have a beer as long as we were over the yellow line but now we got sent to the gutter, what is this world coming to? It was humiliating and I asked security if they have any big dumpsters that I could stand next to and have a smoke cause that's how they made me feel like I was rubbish cause I wanted a smoke. But nothing can dampen my high of seeing our friend Stevie, so please come back again and see us soon. you're a living legend.

What a privilege to see you again Stevie, you still have that amazing presence. I stood mesmerised for the whole performance and was honoured to touch hands with you.( A 30 yr dream come true) I had the pleasure of attending both the Brisbane Concert 20th Feb & Gold Coast Concert 22nd Feb. Gold Coast show far outweighed Brisbane, Stevie was brilliant at both, however the smaller venue worked its magic. Stevie appeared to feel the love and adulation from the audience at the Gold Coast venue. Brisbane audience was a bit staid. Rock on Gold Dust Woman, hope to see you again soon!!!! Vanessa Carlton was pretty special too, what a talented young lady.

Oh my GOD !!! After loving Stevie for most of my life (the Fleetwood Mac s/titled album…I am now 41); I had the priviledge of seeing her for the 1st time ever & she certainly did not disappoint. I tried to get to the front of the stage for the beginning of the show but security would not let me (even tho’ I held a 12th row platinum floor ticket)…I had a gift for the lady whose music has been the tapestry of my life…I was not going to be deterred…I snuck through from the other side & reached the front of the stage as “Edge” began…my heart has never pumped so hard in all my life. My childhood dream was about to be realised….Stevie looked over & gave me the most loving smile as she made her way across the stage, I was smiling widely at this vision of angelic beauty, tears welled in my eyes…there was another girl next to me, & Stevie walked over to us 1st…I was shaking like a leaf… I handed her a crocheted & hand-beaded shawl. She seemed delighted with the gift & passed it to her security guy… as she held my hand I said “I love you Stevie, poet of my heart”. She squeezed my hand affectionately & said “thank you for the love”…the tears were now streaming down my face. She was never to know that my 13 ½ year-old marriage had broken up on the 28th January, yet in this brief moment, it was as if that instant of kindness took all my pain away…Stevie, please know how much that moment meant to me…I will carry the memory in my heart for the rest of my life… Thank you Jana & Lori for waving to me as you left the stage, & Waddy & Al for your smiles during those final 3 songs…the 4 of you were so lovely to those of us down the front with your kind acknowledgements… an aside, Stevie was given 4 gifts at this concert from what I could see, the girl next to me gave her an aboriginal painting, she also got a hat & a framed picture.

We had the priviledge of seeing Stevie perform in Melbourne with the Mebourne Symphony Orchestra on Saturday night, Brisbane on Monday night & the Gold Coast on Wednesday night. Stevie fulfilled and far exceeded all our expectations. Stevie completely captivated me..... us.....the whole audience!!! She serenaded all of us and cast a magic spell over everyone in the auditorium for the duration of both concerts. Stevie beautifully executed all of her songs. Sharona & Jana were fantastic - but what a special treat to see Lori! It was fantastic to see Lori's return to the stage, especially in Australia - we felt honoured. Waddy was exceptional as always with his guitar riffs and made great contact with the audience. Al Ortiz was a pleasure to watch on bass - he often winked & smiled at us whilst performing which was just brilliant! Carlos Rios played his guitar beautifully and I enjoyed his performance immensely. Brett, was so sweet and also commanded attention during his beautiful guitaring on Landslide - a very multi-talented musician. Jimmy & Taku - well, they were the heartbeat of the band (aside from Stevie of course) - their performances on Stand Back and Edge of Seventeen were exceptional and had the crowd pumped! Those who were not standing, soon were & were dancing to their rhythmic beats. Darrell Smith on keyboards provided some definitive spine-tingling moments on keyboards, especially during Rhiannon. It goes without saying that Stevie was backed by an exceptional band and together, they had us all, completely & utterly entranced. Stevie looked stunningly gorgeous. Each costume change was a visual and spectacular delight. The most amazing & memorable moment for most of us lucky enough to be close enough to the stage, was Stevie holding our hands during the conclusion of Edge of Seventeen - and getting such a beautiful smile! That was a phenomenal and intense moment - it was unforgettable! Thank you Stevie! Stevie's dance during Stand Back was a highlight, along with her high kicks and cute remarks during the Brisbane set which brought thunderous applause and loud whoops from adoring fans. Stevie was awe-inspiring - we will be forever grateful that she brought her Gold Dust Woman tour to Australia & New Zealand. On a personal note, I wrote a song for Stevie which included a photo of her with her precious father. I had the absolute, intense pleasure of giving that song to Stevie last night during Edge of Seventeen.....I was completely overwhelmed with emotion when she accepted it......it was one of the most incredible and heart wrenching moments of my life. I'll never forget it. My only criticism would have to be the merchandise.... more, more, more - give us more and give us variety!!!! Thank you Stevie..... for everything. You are an angel. Your lyrics, songs & amazing presence bring a sense of love, joy, elation and peace.......you cast a magic spell over everyone when you perform. If only you knew how your music has touched my life and the life of the members of a close-knit fan club in Australia - you have brought the most amazing people together from all over the country and we have become very close. We are family - and it's all thanks to you. We love you - don't ever stop!

Looking at the other reviews of this show I think I have a different perspective on it. Being an American (From San Jose, Calif) living in Australia since 1993 I have been just about dying for Stevie to grace these shores. The last time I saw Stevie was her Timespace concert in the Bay Area. Before I have seen her every time solo & with Fleetwood Mac including her short Bella Donna Tour in 1981 when I was sixteen. She has always amazed me each time but with marriage & two children & now 41 I was wondering how different it would be.Especially as this was the first tour where I didn't wear my "Stevie" clothes. Would I feel different. Well, when she came out singing "Enchanted" I just burst into tears! Still so beautiful & her voice has never been stronger. She looked so happy!! Me & my brother had great seats on the floor so didn't even need to look at the screen. I thought the set she sang showed the diversity that she has always shown at her concerts. She can't sing everything! One tour she didn't even sing "Rhiannon"!! But she pulls out the gems & the favourites that weren't always hits. Her clothes were amazing (as always) and she still has that endearing way of talking to her audience. I have seen a lot of these band members in different tours. It was great to see Carlos Rios as he was so good in "The Other Side of the Mirror" tour. And Waddy looked exactly the same!! I think people have already written in detail of what Stevie did so all I can say it was a perfect concert of Stevie. Older yes but so am I & I thank her so much for making me remember the magic I felt when I was so much younger & less wise. You are beautiful Stevie. And maybe with you now a owner of a horse in Australia we will see you more often. Just one other thing - I think it would have been better had John Farnham not to have been there. I'm sure his fans loved it but this was a Stevie Nicks concert & should have been just that. The disruption of people leaving before the last train was poor planning on the promoters part & took away from the show while it was still going on. If he hadn't played everyone could have stayed until the end. If he wants to play then he should have his own concert. Two different types of music & styles. When I saw Fleetwood Mac there two years ago they didn't even have an opening act. It was great for Vanessa Carlton to be there as she is the next generation of singer/songwriters so it kind of ties together. Sorry Farnham fans, but that is the way I feel.

This is the first time I have seen Stevie Nicks live as I am now 25 years old. Stevie you have surpassed all generation gaps to produce amazing plethora of music for our hearts. At the Brisbane Entertainment centre on the 20th of Feb both my mother (whom saw you 25 years ago in Australia) and I were treated to an heavenly experience. Firstly my heart was opened by Vanessa Carton with her soul felt, angelic, melodic piano, followed by a kick start of waves of freedom by John Farnham then mesmerized by the Goddess aura of Stevie. Personally I loved the spontaneity of Stevie's dance with shimmers of endless love exploding from her hands as she gripped the microphone stand with elegance. Stevie kept the audience on an invisible string giving them hope with a seductive glance as she melted us together with her amazing heavenly voice. We love you Stevie thank you for sharing your music with our hearts.

I attended the Feb 20 concert in Brisbane, Australia and I have to say that I was blown away by Stevie's performance. We were sitting in the 3rd row dead centre and from the moment Stevie took to the stage and we raced up to stage, we were held in thrall for almost the next two hours. It was great to hear Stevie do the older solo songs, such as Enchanted, Outside the Rain, If Anyone Falls, and Stop Dragging my Heart Around. I have been a Stevie fan for as long as I can remember but this was the first time I had seen a solo show, having seen her twice with Fleetwood Mac in the early 90s and 2 years ago. While Stevie did not get a glowing review the next day in the newspapers here (they said it was a hard act to follow John Farnham - her double-bill guest - as he is a local hero here in Australia) I felt that the reviewer was slightly misguided in his expectations of her show. While taking nothing away from Farnham (his was a thumping rock show), I felt that the reviewer did not understand Stevie's music and the type of show Stevie puts on - an almost mystical, stage performance. We had Vanessa Carlton as the opening with John Farnham and Stevie performing the main act and I thought that it was a great variety in music styles and performances. Vanessa was quiet yet chatting in front of her piano, John was hard rocking, lots of lights and Stevie let the poetry of her music speak for itself. From the moment she came out swinging her tambourine to the intro of Enchanted, she held the audience, particularly those like myself down in front of the stage, in the palm of her hand. Outside the Rain sequed (as usual) into Dreams and was followed by a beautiful piano intro to Rhiannon. Stevie chatted to the audience frequently, explaining how some songs came about and it was great to see her do Sorcerer and Fall from Grace from TISL (this album, brilliant as it is, did not feature hugely here in Oz). I loved her renditions of Beautiful Child (another surprise inclusion), Landslide (got a HUGE cheer) and Has Anyone Ever Written... My favourites for the evening, if I had to pick a couple, were definitely Stand Back (the twirling!! the leg kicks!!) and Beauty and the Beast (the final song - I have never seen her perform this song with such emotion and power in all the DVD concerts I have of hers). But my highlight of the night was during the guitar solo at the end of Edge of 17 when she came to the front of the stage to shake hands and receive gifts from the crowd. I held her hand for a couple of seconds and was in heaven! Thanks Stevie for finally coming back for a fantastic solo show - it's been a long time coming and I hope you, solo or with the Mac return to Australia again soon.
Julia
Thank you so very much for returning and performing so beautifully in Brisbane. You made an English girl very happy! The show was visually enchanting, so tight and well rehearsed and it was great to see you, and the girls, especially Lori, have so much fun!! To my surprise I had a front row seat and got up close to Waddy, (I now have one of his snapped picks), and was able to really appreciate the intensity of the show. It was surreal being so close to a woman I have admired and who has been in my life for so long. Your voice is unique and each performance was executed perfectly. I shook your hand at last and was able to look you in the eye and say 'I love you'. At the end of the night I waited to see you leave and said goodbye to Lori, she grinned, smiled and waved and looked as if she was having the best time! I hope you have a good time here and you are treated well. Come back soon....your friends will be waiting.......XXX

Hello Everyone, I would just like to say how wonderful the show was tonight. I came in late halfway through John Farnham's set and must say he really tried to work the crowd and so for that I was impressed. I am, I must admit, a chiffonhead and have been for a very long time. I would mainly like to comment on the reason people were leaving the concert early because this issue has been brought up on The Ledge. This is the main Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks fan forum on the internet although I can't access The Ledge to post because I don't have an email account apart from my free yahoo one as I don't have my own computer. Anyway my explanation is that many people, including myself, which I have to say is the first time ever I have had to leave a Stevie concert before the shedule finish, had to catch the train back into the city because as you may or may not know Boondal is quite a distance from the city. The staff were telling us that the last train leaving into the city was 11.30pm so we had to leave the building early enough to make the train which meant obviously leaving before the show was over. I was very embarassed and tried to leave as discreetly as I could which was'nt easy. I only hope Stevie did'nt notice people leaving although of course she must have. Okay, that is all I wanted to say about that so I would like to talk about the show. Unfortunately I can't remember exact details because I would rather just enjow the show without having to write everything down. Although I am sure someone will post their minute by minute review or at least I hope so. HIGHLIGHTS for me were, the Bootilicious intro with the I Can't Wait video of what looks like Stevie coming onto the stage just before she actually arrives. The whispers were so cute and so Stevie. I think she was trying to save her voice for the other songs. Someone came on stage and she playfully said "Who was that man" Obviously using the famous Lone Ranger reference "Who was that Masked Man" and making it her own! Too funny! Then she said "I don't know where he came from, he just appeared. SECURITY"! All the time smiling and whispering. When introducing the band and in particular her comment for Jimmy was that he definately had the best hair out of all the band. When introducing Lori, she said that she was her best friend which we of course know, however I was worried that Sharon or Sharona would feel left out because they have all been friends for about the same amount of time, However I need'nt have worried at all because after introducing Jana as "our little ball of Cartier love" Stevie introduced Sharona as "My Other Best Friend". This made me smile because It just prooved to me how truly classy "our girl" is. "If Anyone Falls" This is so good live, and the way Stevie and the girls harmonize together is amazing and beautiful. It really is a fabulous song to "try" to sing along to. They really put a lot of effort into hitting and sustaining all the notes. "Sorcerer" I love how Stevie loves to sing this song. Another great song to "try" and sing along to. I have to admit I adore her early demo of this song and the way she sang it with her passion and crystal clear "baby voice". "Fall From Grace" obviously reminds her of a time in her life when things were not so great or happy for her, if she is singing it about herself, or even if it's about someone else and, how, we like to wonder just out of all the people in her life it may be about, she sings it with great intensity. "Outside The Rain" After "heart skips a beat" Stevie plays the airdrum to a double beat in time with Jimmy. Cute! "Gold Dust Woman" I love the Pychadelic guitar arrangement and Stevie's very Isadora Duncan loose movements and twirls. Did anyone notice how in Melboune on Saturday night Waddy played a few chords of ACDC's HELL BELLS during this song? Very Appropriate I thought. "Stand Back" Did anyone count all the twirls? I counted 16 but I think I missed a few at the beginning. "Stop Dragging My Heart Around" I really like the new arrangement. It sounds a little bit country and I love the YEAH, YEAH, YEAHS! "Rock And Roll" WOW! I was completely in love with Stevie's version of this song and just shows how she can sing anything if she wants to. I nearly forgot the KICKS with ATTITUDE! Brilliant! "Rhiannon" This without a doubt is the best version of this song I have seen her sing for a very long time. I just hope and pray that someone recorded it for prosperity! Stevie had her cape from the Rosebud version or at least it seemed the same and I think she was in some way trying to recreate the Rosebud version of Rhiannon. I was starting to believe that those days were over but she seemed to be trying to channel her younger spirit and It was beautiful! Have I possibly forgotten anything? My highlights have practically included the whole show alas, I'd like to give mention to all the BABY,BABY,BABY's, YOU SHOULD SEE ME NOW's, YOU CAN'T SEE ME NOW's, YOU CAN'T SAVE ME NOW's. Also when Stevie was introducing Carlos she smiled and said "It seems like I've known you for a hundred years. Did'nt we meet on the Titanic" Too funny! Bye the way, I have come over from Perth and have been to the Melbourne and Brisbane shows and so now I am going up to the Gold Coast tomorrow morning for the Gold Coast show tomorrow night. After that I'll be going to the two Sydney concerts and then I'm going to the Perth show after I return home! Happy Days!!

Stevie, I had the privilege of attending the Brisbane Concert. Thank You so much for coming to Brisbane!!! Ever since I can remember I have loved Fleetwood Mac. I have never seen you live and found you were everything I hoped for, wow girl you really do still have it. Your music has traveled with me through the long hot days and the dark stormy nights. Through all the seasons you have remained with me singing sweetly to remind me. Thank you. I must comment that John Farnham was brilliant, he still has it too. Then there was Vanessa Carlton just beautiful. All of the band members gave us in Brisbane a top quality performance. What a wonderful night of music to remember. Come back and see us soon. Wishing happiness and health to you all.
Pete
So glad I took time off work and travelled to Brisbane to see the fabulous Ms Nicks. Wow what a show.... Love emantes from this graceful, awe inspiring, woman. Plus Stevie simply looks beautiful.... Edge of Seventeen rocked, Beautiful Child stirred an emotional response inside me, I could tell Stevie was feeling this song. All the songs were delivered with power and depth. But it was the emotion in the last song, Beauty and the Beast, that made me cry, and being a man I rarely ever allow myself to cry..... Thanks and salutations to Stevie and her band. If you haven't been to an Aussie show, don't hesitate, just go!
Debbie-Sue
Hello Stevie, I thought your show last night was absolutely sensational! (I thoroughly enjoyed the performance by Vanessa Carlton as well.) I was deeply moved by your energetic performance and as always, you shared with us your natural grace and beauty. You are a rare gem, without doubt. I appreciated the way you engaged the audience and how you had fun with the band and vocals on the stage. It amplifies your beauty within. Finishing the night's performance with Beauty and the Beast the way you did deeply moved me. Thank you for the effort to come Down Under and I look forward to the opportunity to see you perform live again.

I had never seen Stevie live and solo before this show, and at the risk of being burned by other fans I have to say that I was a little disappointed. I grew up listening to Fleetwood Mac and I have been a fan of Stevie's solo work from Bella Donna onward. I have read the reviews from the Melbourne show and I have wonder if I saw the same show. The tracklist was cetainly the same, and it was only two days later, but frankly it was a let down. Yes, she still has a commanding stage presence, and boy can the girl still sing. However the sound was all over the place and she seemed to almost be storing energy for the next shows on the tour. I just can't figure out what went wrong. Quite a few people left about half way through, as though they were disappointed with what they were hearing..... or should I say NOT hearing. During a lot of the songs, Stevie could barely be heard above the band and while she was gesturing to the sound guys during the opening numbers, she seemed satisfied after a few songs and carried on with the same sound mix. The volume levels were good, it was more the mix that was off. My last rant involves the set list. Where were the gems like Sara, Rooms on Fire, Talk to Me, I Can't Wait.... the list goes on. Having said all that, Stevie Nicks still knows how to entertain her fans, and I am glad I had the chance to see her for what could be the last time. Maybe I just wanted too much.....

She is and will always remain the high priestess of rock. I am still in awe after my front row experience, of the beauty and talent I witnessed last night. It is quite unimaginable that this woman is 57 years old and still doing what she does SO WELL. Her voice and look is better than I have seen her in the past 20 years. If yu missed it...you missed one of the BEST concerts of all time. YOU ROCK STEVIE

Stevie Nicks is amazing, breathtaking and beautiful. Just to be in the same room as her is a wonderfully enchanting experience. The spirits are summoned, the magic is created and we were all enthralled. I first went to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre to see Stevie on the 20th Feb 2006 Vanessa Carlton was a great beginning to the night and it’s great to see someone share themselves in music and her amusing anecdotes! Johnny Farnham was the next performer and though very entertaining he was not who we all had come to see. Opening music was “Bootylicious” (Destiny’s Child where they sample the opening riff from Edge of Seventeen) and a remix of Dreams

Stevie’s track list for the night was:
Enchanted
Only a Dream
Dreams
Rhiannon
Sorcerer
Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?
Stand Back
If Anyone Falls
Beautiful Child
Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around (with Waddy)
Gold Dust Woman
Fall From Grace
Landslide
Edge of Seventeen

And for the encore:
Led Zep’s Rock n Roll
Beauty and the Beast

Stevie had some great outfits including a beautiful jacket for Beauty and the Beast. The standouts for the night were (for me) Stand Back and If Anyone Falls, but the best parts of the night were Landslide when on the background flashed scenes from Stevie’s life, from her as a child through to Fleetwood times. Beautiful. In Rhiannon the backdrop was some Sulamith Wuffing paintings mixed with dolls etc. The best use of the projector would have to be Beauty and the Beast at the end where scenes from “La Belle el la Baa’le” by Jean Cocteau were played. It was extremely moving as Stevie’s voice was faultless (all night) and I imagined how it would have sounded with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra! Overall it was a beautiful night, spellbinding and enchanting in every way.

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend both the Brisbane (20/2/2006) and Gold Coast (22/2/2006) shows this week, living on the Gold Coast. Originally my partner and I just booked tickets to the Brisbane show but then upon seeing (gleefully) that Stevie would also be playing right here, we booked tickets to that show too, and thank God we did! It was SO FANTASTIC! Not to say the Brisbane show wasn't wonderful also, but the Gold Coast show just seemed to have more electricity flowing through it...the people and atmosphere were full of love and affection for Stevie...anything less would have been impossible though, considering how gorgeous and beautiful she and her performance was. Her voice was absolutely amazing and in fact sounds more and more like she used to years ago, which is pretty cool. The songs were both energising and emotional...several times I was battling to hold back tears (Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You, Landslide, Beautiful Child and then Beauty & the Beast as an encore) and my partner beside me was crying freely. (She has met Stevie before in 1979 in Brisbane when they came for the Tusk tour, and chatted with Stevie for a while before several of the concerts, and Stevie dedicated Landslide to her one night. She feels it is her song.) At the end of the concert, before the encores, we were able (despite interference from concert hall personnel) to move right down to the front and stand in front of the stage, along with quite a few other people. This was amazing and fantastic, as we were able to be right there close to Stevie, and as she performed the closing number, Beauty & the Beast, I think a lot of people were left teary, dazed and just in awe of how beautiful this woman is. After the show, we and a couple of other devoted fans went around the back to see if we could meet Stevie, but alas it was not to be. Security people kept us back but we did manage to see Stevie briefly as she walked to the waiting car. She waved and blew us kisses. She looked really happy, which was nice to see. We continued waving, clapping and yelling various praises as the car drove away, Stevie still waving from inside. The Brisbane show was also absolutely wonderful, and you could feel the love from the crowd. Everyone wanted Stevie to be her best and she certainly was. (though to me anyway, basically anything she does is the best.) There isn't too much for me to say about it though, as it was flawless and perfect but for me, just lacked the excitement of the Gold Coast show (only because we couldn't get to the stage or try to meet Stevie afterwards at the Brisbane show). Everyone who has a chance should go to see Stevie. She is so impressive. It will be a night to remember and treasure always. The only thing I wish was that I'd had the nerve to go down to the stage earlier so I may have had a chance to touch Stevie's hand during Edge of Seventeen. Oh well. Next time!
