3/5/06 Bowl of Brooklands New Plymouth, NZ -

Wow its been a week since I had the pleasure of seeing my all time favorite female artist, Stevie Nicks at the Bowl of Brooklyn on the 5th March in New Plymouth. I'm sitting here wearing my very stylee leather and lace t-shirt and listening to Beautiful child. It was the first time we had been to the bowl and we just had the best view you could possibly get. Everything to me was perfect and I loved how the weather cleared and the clouds disappeared and the moon shone bright as Stevie first floated out on stage. I think we only got rained on once while Stevie was singing. The Band was great, the drum solo was a favorite of mine and of course Lori, Sharon and Jana were superb. I must be honest and say that I was a bit teary during the concert, to hear some of my favorite songs being sung by a woman I have so greatly admired since I was 15 (I'm now 36), It was just a bit overwhelming at times. Like someone else mentioned about the "crazy" people who dived into the lake I would have done that myself possibly if I was still that 15 year old who threw caution to the wind but age has crept up on me but I'm envious of them anyway. Thank-you Stevie for fulfilling a long desire to see you perform please don't leave it to long before you come back and visit us here In Aotearoa.

Firstly I would like to say a big THANK YOU to Stevie and her band for coming to New Zeland. We travelled down to New Plymouth from Hamilton to see Stevie at the Bowl of Brooklands. This is a park like setting with a small lake in front of the stage. Vanessa Carlton came on first and she was really great. The sound system for the whole concert was perfect. John Farnham came on next and got every one rocking. We moved closer to the stage for Stevie's set. She came on to cheering and whistling. I was totally spell bound. I have been a fan since the Rumours album. My highlights were Beautiful child, Has anyone ever written anything for you, Beauty and the Beast, Rhiannon and Standback. It was really great to see Lori had travelled to New Zealand. About 15 fans jumped into the lake halfway through the concert and Stevie was knocked out by that. All in all, seeing Stevie live for the first time was more than I had dared hope for. You rock Stevie.

We saw Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac 2yrs ago at Rod Laver Centre in Melbourne and it was fantastic, so it was great to see her again performing with John Farnham at North Harbour Stadium, Auckland saturday 4th March. The sound and lighting was excellent and while John's music was great, Stevie has still got it - even at 57! All I wish now is for Fleetwood Mac to come to Auckland. Hopefully they will. Great to see you again Stevie!!!

Magic. I finally got to see Stevie live for the first time ever last night in New Plymouth. It was cold & wet but not on stage and not too cold & wet for Stevie's fish people. We love you too. Stevie Rocks and long may she reign, and what a fantastic band. It was great to hear the old songs and new one's too, and Stevie' voice and constumes were awesome. Let's hope we get to see you again soon, and you get to do your road trip of NZ soon. Thanks for bringing Vanessa with you too. Look forward to seeing the new DVD of the tour so we can live it forever.

I have just got back from Stevies concert in New Plymouth New Zealand. Two weeks ago I flew to Melbourne and was blown away by that concert. Stevie looked so beautiful and was more vibrant than the Fleetwood Mac shows of two yrs ago. (Loved them though) But on her own she just shone. It was her show and her beautiful personality came through. My seven yr old daughter has cerebral palsy and just watched FM Live in Boston the whole time so because it would be too loud to take her to the show, I was a bit naughty and videoed her favourite songs. Boy is she in for a treat when I xfer it all to a tape. Sorry Stevie, but I just had to share you. Thank you again and please come back. The NP venue was an awesome atmosphere and you were gorgeous.

Last night Stevie played at the Bowl of Brooklands in New Plymouth. I might be biased but the venue suited Stevie perfectly. I was lucky enough earlier in the day to meet Sharon, Lori, Carlos and Taku. There were very friendly and happy to chat. Carlos asked if the Bowl was the place with the lake and it is. I had a front row seat but because of the lake, was unable to shake Stevie's hand during Edge of 17. That didn't stop about 15 people trying by jump in. Stevie called them crazy but said she liked crazy. Vanessa Carlton has an excellent voice and is a superb piano player. John Farnham put on a great show and really knows how to work a crowd. But it was Stevie that I and most of the crowd had come to see. Right from the intro she had me captivated. She has awesome stage presence, looks great and the musicians and back-up singers complement her. I'm not sure about other shows, but she didn't do Enchanted. During Stop Draggin My Heart around Woody was a little hard to hear and his guitar drowned out Stevie. The crowd in the seated area didn't get up and dance, even to Stand Back which was disappointing (I thought they'd be the die hard fans). Time went by so fast and it was over. I hope Stevie enjoyed the Bowl and comes back with Fleetwood Mac if they tour next year.

WOW - It was so awesome - the weather was bad, misty rain but what more can you have when you have a great soulful singer like Stevie belting out tunes... Tunes like Beautiful Child and Landslide with great sounds and a crowd responding like that was amazing. Not enough words to describe it - memory of a lifetime

I attended the concert at the Bowl of Brooklands, New Plymouth, New Zealand last night (Sunday 5 March). It was an awesome show!! Stevie, John Farnham and Vanessa Carlton were all great. Well worth the trip from Tokoroa (about four hours drive, not quite "A Thousand Miles"...). Fantastic music, but no sign of "A Touch Of Paradise" (John), "Leather And Lace", "Every Day", "Rooms On Fire", "Sara", "Seven Wonders", "I Can't Wait", "Silver Springs", "Sometimes It's A Bitch", "Desert Angel", "Gypsy" or "Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind" (all Stevie) - time constraints I guess. The weather was a bit dodgy with the odd short shower here and there - but I dried out pretty quickly each time. Not cold either. Great renditions of "A Thousand Miles (Vanessa), "Age of Reason", "Every Time You Cry", "Pressure Down", "You're The Voice" (John), "Stand Back", "Edge Of Seventeen", "Dreams", "Rhiannon", "Landslide", "Beauty And The Beast", "Stop Dragging My Heart Around", "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything ForYou?", "Sorcerer" etc (Stevie). Keep it up!!

Its been said before but its got to be said again!Stevie, her wonderful back up band and crew were absolutely amazing!!:) Everything was perfect, everything you could imagine and MORE! Stevies whole performance mesmerized the crowd and that explains why she is still one of the top leading female singers of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got to meet the band, especially the very lovely Sharon. Thank you to her. But to top it off we were so privileged to meet the very beautiful person herself, Stevie, YEAH...............Extremely down to earth and very friendly, she even obliged by signing autographs for us. Hi Stevie, I have grown up with your music and have been waiting since I was 16 to see you live, I am now 33 and can now tick that off my list of things to achieve in my life time. I was blown away. I cried and cried through the entire show ( some songs was complete sobbing), what an emotional roller coaster you sent me on, your music has truly touched my life and I will never forget the most amazing feeling of seeing you live, you are truly a beautiful lady and singer. Thank you for giving me one of the biggest buzz's in my life. It must be a real amazing feeling to know just how deeply you can touch people's lives, so please keep going. I think New Plymouth was a great venue for your show, so picturesque and you.

Okay, since there doesn't seem to be a review for this concert yet...here goes. All I can say is, she could have come out and not sung at all and I still would have been so thrilled to have my musical inspiration in the same place as me. The setlist was pretty much the same as the previous Australian concerts, with no 'Enchanted', and was superb. Edge of Seventeen in particular absolutely was on fire. So much so that in the midst of it people jumped into the lake which lies between the stage and the front row of seats just to be nearer to Stevie...Rhiannon was magical and gorgeous. Beautiful Child was moving and wonderful. Her first encore, Rock N Roll, was perfect. Beauty and the Beast was the perfect end to the best concert of my life. My one regret was the people around me (in the seated part of the venue) refusing to stand up for much of the set, which I thought was absolutely disrespectful. Come on, it's Stevie Nicks, how often does something this amazing happen... Other than this one gripe, Stevie's voice was perfect, and was beyond description, really. An experience of a lifetime. She said she loved our country and that they all wanted to come back to stay because they loved it so much, which was nice.

Outstanding is one word to describe Stevie Nicks and the rest of her bands performance on Sunday 05 March in New Plymouth. What a lovely setting for a brilliant concert. Stevie's voice was just amazing and she rocked. If I wasnt at the concert with my parents, I too would have jumped in that lake!! You are the best Stevie and I really hope you get a chance to come to NZ again.
