I was at the Barnes & Noble signing and wanted to share my story of my day. It was pretty extrodinary and a dream come true.
I went to Stevie's signing at Barnes and Noble on Tuesday, March 31st and more than I ever imagined came true. I took the train into NYC from Connecticut Monday night and stood in line from 6 a.m. until Stevie came around 6:30 p.m. I was in the first row of the chairs set up. Like everyone else, I was replaying in my head all day what I was going to say for the moment I've been dreaming about for as long as I can remember. The signing was on the fourth floor of B&N and there was a stage with a desk set up where Stevie was going to do the signing and then a "press area" where she was going to take pictures before the signing began (and took pictures with the people who won the "Stevie look-alike" contest. As usual, there was so much energy in the room when Stevie came. When it was my turn, I can't describe the feeling walking towards Stevie...I'm sure everyone felt the same way...it was about to be my moment with Stevie...no reaching my hand out through the crowd during the edge walk "hoping" she wouldn't walk past me...and now I had the honor to spend a few seconds with Stevie to tell her how influencial she has been to me over the years. Unbelievably surreal.
Stevie took my hand and I started blurting out as much as I could remember "rehearsing" in my head throughout the day. She looked right at me as I spoke to her...It was such an unbelievable moment. She is such a genuine artist and person. As she was finishing signing my CD and DVD she noticed that there was a third CD...she asked if it was mine, but it belonged to a lady ahead of me...so in the middle of all of that confusion somehow...someone (I think it was her publicist) had me pose with Stevie for the press. I was literally shaking like a leaf...my cheeks were twitching. As we were posing, Stevie said to me, "Isn't this incredible!?" I said, "It's unbelievable!" I couldn't believe what was happening. After that I told her I love you over and over. My mind was fried blank at that point and once I got off of the stage I barely could walk. I have never felt such adrenaline in my life...I was so happy I was crying, shaking...I'm still flying high.
As I was getting off of the train back in Connecticut that night, a fan I met that day found one of the pictures the press had taken. I truly went to the signing not knowing what to expect or if I would even end up meeting her. There were no photos allowed, but I was beyond content with just having the memory of meeting Stevie. I couldn't...and still can't believe I have a picture of me with Stevie. As if that weren't enough to take in, I ended up on Entertainment Tonight with her on the clip on ET's website and on the clip on the show that aired last night. I am so blessed and grateful for everything that happened on Tuesday. I absolutely adore Stevie...I have traveled all over the country to see her in concert...she is my hero in so many ways. I was able to give her assistant the picture of us, with a thank you note for doing the signing at the benefit party in NYC last night. What an unbelievable week. I hope she decides to do more signings in other parts of the country so everyone can have the opportunity to meet her.

Today was a dream come true. I got to meet Stevie Nicks. My husband and I (he was doing this for me) took the train from Long Island to NYC. We got in line at 9:30 saw a friend Eric from Stevie's concert at Jones beach last year. During the day Barnes and Noble played Stevie and FM music all day. I met a lot of nice people.
Amazing how all of Stevie's fans are so incredibly nice. Well the time came around 6:30 and in walked Stevie.
I was thinking of what I was going to say to Stevie if given the chance.
So many things on how she helped me
get thru the hard times. How one line " Take on the situation but not the torment " has always carried me thru in life. Well the time comes after a two minute photo shoot with the media and some pictures taken with Stevie look alikes....Lucky them. We were in the fourth row. Now the time comes.
My husband is in front of me. Stevie grabs his hands and asked how are you. My husband just fell in love with her....He said it's been a long day(we were there since 9:30) Stevie warmly says I'm so sorry. She initials a F for his last name along with a design(Barnes and Noble said no but Stevie did it anyway). Now it is my turn. I went blank and babbled. Stevie listened to my babbling,(God bless her) I had a Sisters of the moon shirt on and I was talking to Stevie about our group, and about Herbie. At one point Stevie was looking under her desk, I think her dog was under there. People were asking her assistant if it was Stevie's dog, a happy dog, but she said no, we didn't believe her. Anyway she signed my DVD I held her hand and right before I left, I told her I loved her and wanted to say the world is a better place with you in it, but I couldn't get the words out and she look kindly into my eyes and said thank you...I will never forget that day. It was so different then the edge walk. Stevie looked beautiful and happy to be there with her fans.
