Fleetwood Mac 2009 - FAN REVIEWS

10/27/09 Manchester Men Arena Manchester, UK

Well last night was the night I had been waiting for Fleetwood Mac live at the Manchester MEN. Firstly WHAT a performance. Throughout the entire set I was truly mesmerized, from the awe-inspiring 'Chain' to the poetic 'Rhiannon'. For Lyndsay Buckingham the true highlight of the night had to be 'I'm So Afraid' which has to be the best live guitar performance I have ever heard by far. For Stevie as difficult as it is to narrow down, the majesty that was 'Landslide' was truly phenomenal. Her hauntingly beautiful voice echoed through the arena with an intangible presence. Prior to the encore was 'Go Your Own Way' this song without a doubt drew the greatest support from the audience and really was the peak of the performance.
Afterwards several of us waited patiently outside the arena in the rain in the hope of seeing Stevie. After around 20minutes the gates opened and out came a HUGE Bentley limousine (Stevie travel's in style). Despite not stopping for the crowd it got stuck in traffic after traveling about 20yards, hurray! Whilst waiting at the lights Stevie lowered her window and shook hands with some fans on the other side of the road. This caused an insane rush as myself and everyone around me charged for the limo- it really was everyone for themselves. Whilst I wasn't fortunate in touching her I came within 2feet which i'm pretty pleased with and was an awesome ending to an unparalleled night.

Simply incredible.

P.S. Stevie we need a solo European tour!!!

Went to see the Mac last night at Manchester Arena. They were FANTASTIC and Stevie was superb, still has the voice and the moves, she was stunning. i was lucky enough to be right at the stage and 3 ft away and I loved every minute. steive you are the best and your music lives on, you made the night for me and for so many. Rendition of Gypsy, Sara, Landslide and Rhiannon were out of this world. THANKYOU, you are a legend.

What a gig!! I was my usual excited self just at the thought of seeing Fleetwood Mac again, and my excitement was justified with every song. Nice to hear 'Go Insane', but I always thought that 'Countdown' would make a good live song. Great to hear 'Standback' - I love that one done live, it's fab! How about introducing 'Don't Let Me Down Again' as a live song - that would be awesome!! it was also great to hear some songs live that have never been done before - 'Storm' was fab, as was 'I Know I'm Not Wrong'. We certainly got our money's worth from Lindsay, but obviously it was Stevie who got the loudest cheers!! I saw a review years ago that said she could go on stage, gargle at the mic for10 minutes and her fans would still love her. It was right!!! As per previous review - any chance of a UK solo tour - Liverpool has a nice big venue that's really handy for me!!! I could pop over - then go again to Manchester, it's only an hour away - just a thought. Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks - come back soon - 6 years is WAY TOO LONG!!!!!

Oh my goodness gracious me, Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac are an absolute bunch of living LEGENDS!
I am 19 years old and I have waited to see them since I was 9. Having thought they would never come to England, I was overwhelmed to find myself in the same room as these people and burst into tears as soon as 'Monday Morning' started.
The entire set could not have been performed any better than what I saw. Seriously, it was all fabulous. I sang along to every word, and was so glad when everyone got up to dance at the end because I was dying to dance around all the way through it!!
Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh, yes, they are totally MARVELLOUS. Sorry, but no other live act can top these people. Mick, John, Stevie and Lindsay have a unique charisma on its own level, and I could not for one second take my eyes away from the stage - and that means it must have been good - we had seats that were about a mile away. Security were fools, because they did not let us come and dance at the front. But next time, I will be the FIRST in the queue for tickets, and there WILL be a next time. Fantabulously super duper.
Stevie, you are my INSPIRATION!

Well what can I say? The MAC are back! And with a powerful musical vengeance that could not be equalled by any other. This show really was for the fans, playing all of our favourites, and as soon as Stevie encouraged her band mates to 'get this party started' we were all taken into their world for the next 2 and a half hours. Stevie and Lindsey were both in great voice and finally, after 30 years of it being my all-time favourite Stevie Nicks song, I got to hear 'Sara' live and I don't mind admitting that it brought the tears to my eyes. It was great to hear Stevie's introduction to 'Gypsy', another one that played with my emotions, and the awesome delivery of 'Gold Dust Woman' had me captivated by the high priestess once more. Lindsey on guitar was out of this world, showing many younger players just how it's done, and with THE rhythm section of rock, Mick and John, the foursome showed that they're not done yet and that they seem to be enjoying being together in the band more than they've ever done. In this world of the superficial, shallow nonsense of shows like X-factor, Fleetwood Mac took us all back tonight to a time when musicians were real and songs were original. I was disappointed that 'Silver Springs' didn't close the show, but as I went to get my train home, I knew, more than ever, that I would be forever drowning in the sea of love ... where everyone would love to drown ....

Hi,

My mum introduced me to Fleetwood Mac about 9 years ago, I instantly fell in love with Stevie’s vocals and her beautiful poetic writing and from then on I was hooked. I was so thrilled when I heard they were touring and immediately booked my tickets for Manchester, it’s been a dream of mine to go and see them play and they did not disappoint. The guys were amazing, the music and vocals perfect and the atmosphere was electric. Stevie lit up the stage and during her vocals she had the crowd in the palm of her hand.

A memorable night, I can’t thank them enough.
