Saw Fleetwood Mac last night at BOK Center in Tulsa Oklahoma. OMG they
I was so excited to be able to see Fleetwood Mac in concert for the second time--the first was in May 2009 during their Unleased Tour. This time, I planned more carefully and got floor seats! They did not disappoint. Mick, Stevie, Lindsey and John, as well as backup band and singers, did an outstanding job. Stevie was just as beautiful and engaging as she was in 2009. Mick and John still form the backbone of their sound, and are amazing. And I am in awe of Lindsey's talent. His performance of "I'm So Afraid" was show-stopping--the best version of that song I've ever heard. To top it off, it was cool that Fleetwood Mac got to perform "Don't Stop" in front of President and Mrs. Clinton again. All in all, it was a night that my wife and I will never forget--worth every penny!

I grew up listening to Fleetwood Mac and then couldn't help from following
Stevie Nicks with her solo projects as well! The band is absolutely
phenomenal but I have to say it is Stevie's unique husky voice that managed
to place them on the charts. I was so blessed to have a 4th row ticket
thanks to the person who couldn't attend! They began pretty prompt just
between 8-815! The magic just unfolded before my very eyes and suddenly 40
years of memorable tracks filled my ears and brought a warmth to my heart I
had forgotten about! Stevie still has her voice that if anyone else tried to
emulate would just be very unjust! It just showcases the creativity from the
depths of her soul! Who knew Lindsey was such a force to be reckoned with
himself! He literally has the energy of someone half his age! And his skills
as a guitar player are just beyond words! I could only dream to even think I
could learn to play a fourth of his ability! He is royalty on the stage!
They truly defined an era in our musical history! Mick Fleetwood really
pounded those drums just as precise as he always has been able to! It was
such an experience that will never fade from my memories as long as God
allows me to hold onto them! Christine's presence was missed but the dynamic
power of Nicks and Buckingham made it hard to notice! They just have so many
tracks in their catalog to not be musically nourished! Also for this special
show I felt honored to be in the presence of President Clinton and Hillary
Clinton! It was just icing on a very delectable cake!!!!! I was so proud
that the band is still so relevant on the stage after all of these years!
The music industry is such an impossible beast to conquer these days and
even though they have no current material climbing our charts I feel its
safe to say these musicians can give any current artists a run for their
time and money!!! It was awesome to know they can still sell out arenas
across the globe! There are only a handful of these artists around and they
are definitely treasures to be cherished! The worst part of the evening was
when the lights came on and it was time to go home with just the reality
that it was in fact over. I will say I went to iTunes and downloaded a
greatest hits album from both Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks and have
listened to them every chance I get!!! Thank you guys for your precious
skills!!!!! You are all brilliant diamonds in a field of jewels and you
definitely sparkle brighter than all of the rest amongst you!
