Dear Brian,
Stevie sends her thanks for your recent correspondence. You cannot know how much it means to her to hear your thoughts and feelings about her work. You are the reason she does what she does and knowing it makes you happy delights her.
Fourth of July found nearly 200,000 people attending a free radio sponsored concert on the pier in St. Petersburg, Florida. Stevie arrived in a yacht and sang to a very receptive crowd. As you know, her fans never get enough of her live performances so this was indeed a treat between albums. The 24th of August found her and many more fans at the beautiful new Polaris Amphitheater in Columbus, Ohio. Stevie was really in fine form!
This show was a benefit with proceeds going to "Kids In Camp", a charity that sponsors children with cancer for special summer camp. Stevie's band had several familiar faces including Waddy Wachtel, Carlos Rios, Don Boyett as well as David Elliot and Kevin Stoller. As an added treat for fans of Stevie and her friends, "The Girls", Sharon and Lori sang back up for her during the appearance. An appearance in the Boston Common on October 12th is certain to make the East Coast fans happy.
Also of note, Stevie recently recorded Tom Petty's "Free Falling" for a soundtrack for Party of Five which is due out in the Fall on the Reprise label. This was produced by another old friend, Mike Campbell.
We regret there are presently no photos available. As for a Fan Club, Christopher Nicks is the only person Stevie has authorized to run one. Chris chooses not to and limits his merchandising to tours, as is his prerogative.
Again, Stevie wishes you all good things and thanks you for writing.
All the very best,
Ginny Kamano
