It had been 107 degrees that day, but by the evening the temperature was
perfect. The show began right at 8:00 with Michael McDonald as the
opening act. He played hits from the Doobie Brothers as well as some new
material and sounded great, but of course the crowd was there for Stevie.
From the moment she took the stage to the second she walked off, the first
15 rows were on their feet. As she rocked her way through the set she
sounded spectacular and it didn't take long (during Stand Back at about
the 4th or 5th song) for everyone to rush in near the stage. >From the
billboard hits to the unreleased demos it all sounded pitch perfect. It
was such an amazing concert on such an enchanting night. At one point in
the show she said, "We've got to do this every year." And I totally agree.

I was lucky to go to both shows. Stevie was perfect both nights but the
difference between the venues was like night and day to me. The Security
at Shoreline was rude, uptight and just plain MEAN. I was told that
starting 2 rows in front of me was the "Cut-off" for those allowed to go
to the stage. I was furious. Luckily, I had a present for Stevie wrapped
in Gold glitter paper and gold ribbon. When I showed it to the security
guy he waved me in. I was at stage left and one of the first people she
came over to when it was time. She took my thands and just smiled. I
left my gift there cause I didnt want her to have to deal with it all the
way across. I hope she got it. (Maybe I should have given it to her and
she could have handed it to someone). Course it happened so fast and I was
just happy to make that eye contact and share that moment in time that was
just hers and mine.
TO CONCORD NOW. I didnt even have as good a ticket as Shoreline and yet I
was able to sit in the first row stage right the whole night. All that
was between me and Stevie were several rows of folding chairs for the
promoters. She seemed even happier this night than the night before and
put on a perfect show. The security was almost invisible; I suppose
because I was on the MAIN FLOOR next to the promoters. I felt really
lucky. I made it to stage LEFT this time and was one of the LAST people
she greeted. I was really fun to see her make the walk from where I
stood. Some of the people in the middle tho, were actually grabbing at
her and it looked like they were trying to pull her offstage!!! Her
bodyguard got her out of that one and I was glad. As much as I love
Stevie, I would never pull at her. Both nights she smiled and reached out
to me, I didnt have to yank, which is good because Im not the yankin'
kind of person. I especially LOVED the final shawl change that she made.
It was floor length and white with sparkling gems all over it. What a
night. (s). Stevie is almost done I guess, and I bet she's ready to go
home. God Love you Stevie...I will remember these nights for ever.

WELL THIS WAS MY 14TH TIME SEEING STEVIE SOLO AND OR WITH FLEETWOOD MAC,
AND IT WAS TRULY THE MOST MAGICAL EVENING EVER.AFTER ALL THESE MONTHS I
COULDNT WAIT FOR STEVIE'S SHOW TO COME TO THE BAY AREA. AS LUCK WOULD HAVE
IT WE WERE BLESSED WITH BEAUTIFUL CLEAR, AND WARM WEATHER, WHICH MADE THE
EVENING WITH STEVIE ALL THE MORE ENCHANTING. HER VOCALS WERE STRONGER THAN
I HAVE EVER HEARD, AND FOR THE FIRST TIME SHE SPOKE TO US, AND SHE HAD ME
SMILING ALL NIGHT BECAUSE IT WAS SUCH A KICK TO HEAR HER TALK, IT WAS LIKE
ON OLD FRIEND WHO YOU HAVE ALWAYS LOVED OPENING UP, AND IT WAS REALLY
SPECIAL.OUR SEATS WERE IN THE FIRST SECTION, LAST ROW. I WISH I COULD HAVE
RUSHED THE STAGE BUT BY THE TIME I NOTICED THE CROWD RUNNING UP THERE IT
WAS TOO LATE. THE CROWD WAS ENTHUSIASTIC AND VERY LARGE, I ESTIMATE THERE
WERE AT LEAST 12,000 PEOPLE, MAYBE MORE. WHEN SHE WALKED ONSTAGE AND BEGAN
TO SING, IT WAS THE MOST THRILLING EXPERIENCE. HER VOCALS WERE WAY UP IN
THE MIX, AND IT WAS VERY LOUD.AND SHE LOOKED AS BEAUTIFUL AS EVERYONE SAYS
SHE HAD. SHE HAD ON A BLACK GLITTERY CHIFFON SKIRT WITH THOSE FAMOUS
BURGANDY BOOTS.SHE SMILED, SANDG AND TALKED HER HEART OUT, AND SPOKE OF
HER LOVE OF SAN FRANCISCO, SAYING IT WAS A SACRED PLACE FOR HER.MY
PERSONAL FAVORITES WERE A PLAYFUL "ENCHANTED", "AFTER THE GLITTER FADES".
THE CROWD SCREAMED WHEN SHE SANG THE LINE-EVERYTHING I TOUCH THESE DAYS
HAS TURNED TO GOLD", A VERY BEAUTIFUL "LANDSLIDE", AND OF COURSE, "GOLD
DUST WOMAN". AND SHE DID "RHIANNON WITH AN URGENCY THAT I HAVENT HEARD HER
DO IN AGES.IT WAS INCREDIBLE.I WAS SORT OF BUMMED OUT WHEN IT WAS ALL OVER
BECAUSE IT WAS THE BEST SOLO SHOW I HAVE SEEN HER PERFORM, AND I'VE SEEN
HERE SOLO AT SHORELINE NOW 5 TIMES. THANK YOU STEVIE FOR ALL YOUR
BEAUTIFUL MUSIC, AND SINGING.UNTIL THE NEXT TIME, i WILL BE THERE FOR YOU
AGIN. IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO E-MAIL ME TO TALK ABOUT STEVIE AND THE TOUR,
PLEASE FEEL FREE. SOMAJOSEPH@AOL.COM

Just wanted to join the throngs of fans and well wishers...found myslef
reading the other letters with more than a little jealousy. Yep, I was
there too, but unfortunately, I was in row GG. I've seen Stevie with and
w/o the Mac since Tusk...one time I did get to about the 19 or 20 row, for
the Mask tour....but maybe I just don't know the right people? Well, It
was very emotional being at that concert...I was hoping she would do
somemore of the obscure oldies but goodies, like "Blue Lamp" or "Gypsy",
but that was OK. What struck me most is the change in demeanor Stevie has
gone through since the "old days" . Back then, she talked less, danced
around more, more theatrical I guess, and now it seems there is less of a
separation between herself and her audience..A couple years ago I saw her
on the "Street Angel" tour and she seems much happier and looks much
healthier now. Her voice has fluctuated through the years, but ther is a
serenity and confidence in it now, that of a woman who has come to terms
with some serious things, rather than wrapping them in silk scarves,
mentally or otherwise. What I got from the show Sunday, was "what you see
is what you get"-there is a down to earth quality that was appealing,
especially as I listened to Landslide, (letting my head rest on the
shoulders of my ex boyfriend from a while back)the song became that much
more eloquent in that her fans are getting older too. When it comes down
to it, it doesn't matter that we've heard these songs over and over, that
she may not sing them exactly the way it is on the record..it is the
sincerity in the singing...we can all relate to emotion, whether it be
pain or pleasure, loss or gain.. it is easy to tell the real thing from
the manufactured thing, and if there's anything most real about Stevie, it
would be the emotion she projects through her
performances/songwriting..So, as I sat there many times through the show
with a lump in my throat, and eyes that might or might not cry, I
remembered the "tusk" tour concert I had seen at the Cow Palace, back in
'79 or '80, I think it was December, and Stevie broke down during that
very song, and Lindsey told her,the mike picking it up, "you can't do
this". At the time I was only about 13 or 14. Then I didn't understand,
but I do now......Songs can evoke powerful emotions (why do you think they
don't allow music on Death Row?).....this was sadly illustrated in a news
article the following day about a poor soul, a man who hung himself from a
electric pole after the concert....Well, on a less sad note...it was a
great show and I still managed to dress up even though it must have been
at least 90 degrees when we got there..I remember thinking "She needs to
take off some of those shawls, she's probably dying in the heat and
lights"...'don't hide behind your shawls that way' , ok ok , bad
joke..Someday I hope to start my own website with all my own Stevie
items/photos I've collected over the years.....first I have to get the
computer (at the library right now)...if anyone wants to chat, email me at
